Making a Difference
Used exclusively to promote increased employment opportunities for our local jazz musicians, AJS has set up a separate fund based on a very special donation.
In December 2021 the Austin Jazz Society received a very special donation. Kristi Shuey, a neighbor of board member, Denny Malloy had recently become responsible to select a candidate for a grant from the Frank J. Indihar, M.D. Advised Fund of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation. Dr. Indihar is Kristi’s deceased uncle.
As a result, AJS has set up a separate fund, which we have named the Austin Jazz Society “Enhanced Opportunity Fund”. This fund will be used exclusively to promote increased employment opportunities for our local jazz musicians.
A new committee has been formed to develop projects that not only increase gig opportunities but grow audiences that will support the musicians, long term!
